Studio 525 became the stage for HOTARU, Audio-Technica’s immersive analog sound installation brought to life in collaboration with Technica House NYC.
The space was transformed into a contemporary reinterpretation of a Japanese tea room, where ambient sound, projection, and subtle physical elements merged to create a multi-sensory journey. Guests traversed crushed gravel paths that produced soft soundscapes underfoot, passed through drip-water installations and bell tones, and experienced live-recorded audio pressed onto vinyl in real time.
On the exterior, architectural branding set the tone. Inside, projection mapping and dynamic lighting elevated the space into a responsive canvas—sound, light, and space in conversation. Audio-Technica’s Hotaru turntable was the focal point: a levitating, glowing centerpiece that reframes the vinyl listening experience as art.
