For Nike’s collaboration with avant-garde designer Melitta Baumeister, Studio 525 was transformed into a one-day, invitation-only immersive experience in Chelsea. Timed to coincide with the New York City Marathon, the activation launched Baumeister’s sculptural reinterpretation of the Nike Vomero Premium shoe and embodied the ethos of Run Like No One Is Watching, a celebration of movement as creative expression.
Guests entered through a password-protected back door, winding through the building’s hidden corridors before emerging into a surreal series of rooms that blurred the boundaries between sport and art. A custom ceiling and a fully vinyl-wrapped floor erased the space’s familiar geometry, creating a continuous sculptural field. Each vignette offered a living tableau: a runner preparing for a race, a woman carving butter, performers inhabiting motion and stillness.
Produced by Something Special Studios, the experience reflected Baumeister’s artistic approach to performance and design, transforming Studio 525 into a world where material, light, and sound became the architecture of emotion.
